Yoga is an amazingly fun way to connect and get a sense of my self.I've been practicing yoga over 25 years and my passion, joy and fascination for it continues to grow. It integrates my mind with my body and helps me to balance, focus and concentrate. It challenges me to transcend my limits and realize my potential.

YOGA KEEPS ME HAPPY

Results of regular consistent practice;

All systems of the body improve from the outer layers of skin, muscle and bone to the subtler heart, lungs, nerves and so on. Internal heat is created aiding in the elimination of toxins and tension. The body become light, flexible and strong and the mind becomes calm, clear and sharp.

With regular, consistent practice the body heals and purifies, becoming strong, flexible and light and the mind becomes calm, clear and sharp. There is not one way that works for all people all the time.

Yoga practice is a tool, it is a means to an end, whether that end is to prepare you for your day or prepare you for meditation.

Different styles are used to approach the self in various ways. Some are hard and strong, others soft and gentle, some are fast others slow, some with lots of movement others with little.

There are many good 'templates' styles to work with so I use my knowledge of them, my creativity, my intuition and my sense of humor to share the practice.

For over 20 years my passion for yoga and my joy for practice continues to grow.

I have always had passion for movement and a fascination with stillness.

I began playing sports and doing exercise at an early age.

Since about the age of 12  I was involved in swimming, calisthenics, martial arts, dance. and fitness training and have not stopped moving for 40 years.

At the age of 23  I unconsciously became a vegetarian and  have maintained a vegetarian diet, mostly vegan now for nearly 30 years. I believe that diet is at least 80% responsible for our health, energy and fitness levels.

At the age of 25 living in Santa Monica California a friend brought me to my first yoga class. Yoga's unique application of breathing and stretching had immediate impact on me as they were two things I knew little of.

I got hooked to yoga pretty fast and began a passionate pursuit of all that was yoga. My time and energy was invested in yoga and the energy I consumed was prana and vegetarian. My life path was firmly in a new direction and my personal transformation underway.

As a practitioner and a teacher I see the goal of yoga is to help people transcend limits and increase physical and mental ability. I have been practicing traditional yoga since 1991 and have trained with many 'masters' in many styles and I find value in all of them. (see the list below)

Mediation: I was unknowingly doing meditative practices since I was young boy and in my early thirties I gave myself the opportunity to immerse myself in various meditative practices. Eventually upon my own realization at the age of 37  I derived my own simplistic and profound technique to share this powerful and beneficial practice with everyone.

A PASSION FOR YOGA AND THE DRIVE TO BE YOUR BEST

Buddha Warrior Ashtanga Yoga Plus Training Intensive is not specifically a Teachers Training Certification course although upon completion trainees may be qualified to teach and will have an option to register with *Yoga Alliance. The true and main purpose of the Buddha Warrior Training Intensive is to commit to yourself and devote the time and energy to enhance your body and mind. The training takes your self discipline to the next level, it gives you more self confidence and cultivates a sense of equanimityThe results are incredible and

extremely valuable. You will feel healthier with better balance and more energy, your body / mind connection will be stronger and more efficient. You will feel a renewed sense of purpose with a clear presence of mind to choose what is needed and most important for you in your yoga practice and in your life.

The intensive experience deepens ones internal exploration, raises ones awareness and increases self knowledge.

Because of the inherent challenges and obstacles we all face, the training intensives are also a wonderful bonding experience. This UNION supports personal growth and encourages virtuous actions such as humility, courage, honesty, bravery, sympathy, empathy, compassion, mercy, joy and love. These shared experiences make us better practitioners, better teachers and better human beings

FACE YOUR FEARS • CHALLENGE YOUR LIMITATIONS • EMPOWER YOURSELF

A key to mastery or becoming proficient in anything is consistency and endurance. This means repetition and sustained activity are how we learn and grow. I'm making this point because I've had many students repeat the 200 hour Foundation Training Intensive and their feedback is consistent, They achieve a more profound understanding and a stronger grasp of their own practice and how to share it.

With over 30 years experience in Mind / Body practices and 20 + years training teachers, I have come to realize that no one system or practice is complete or right for all people all the time. I approach teaching and training in a holistic way that combines different traditions and practices that compliment each other. This creates a synergy for developing balance strength, flexibility, mobility and coordination.

The Training Intensive's are called Ashtanga Yoga Plus because the foundation is based on the Ashtanga system of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois but will incorporate influences from Sri T. Krishnamacharya, Sri BKS Iyengar, Sri Swami Bua and Sri Dharma Mittra.

Ashtanga Yoga, as taught by Guruji Sri K. Pattabhi Jois

Guruji Pattabhi Jois learned yoga, Ashtanga yoga from his guru, yoga master Sri. Tirumalai Krishnamacharya. Krishnamacharya was widely considered as a great yogi, a vedic scholar, healer and practitioner.  He learned yoga from his guru Yogeshwara Ramamohana Brahmachari a great guru from the north of India. All professed family and social obligation as opposed to renunciation and retreat style of yoga.

Although Guruji was always quoting various scriptures from one shastra or another he always said he teaches what his guru taught him. He cites the Yoga Korunta as the primary basis for his teaching. It was a practical system of yoga written by the sage Vamana. As the story goes Sri. Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Guruji discovered the teachings in a library in Calcutta. Written on palm leaves that were in bad condition due to been eaten by ants. Krishnamacharya transcribed them and passed the teaching on to Pattabhi. It has been said that they worked on deciphering it together, the teaching laid out the system that Pattabhi refined and taught for over 60 years. It detailed Tristhana; asanas with bandhas, vinyasa, and dristhi. Although no copy of the Yoga Korunta exists this is insignificant to the power and influence this system has today around the world.

Since 1937 Pattabhi has practiced and shared this method with thousands of amazing students, many have become teachers and great ones at that. But it his grandson Sharath Jois directs the main shala/ school in Mysore, India. Sharaths mom, Pattabhi's daughter, Saraswati also runs her own Ashtanga program in Mysore. Pattabhi's son Manju is also a teacher in the US and Sharath sister Sharmila is also a teacher in Bangalore.

This is lineage, parampara!
